And the fun begins!

James Davies, director of Liverpool Pride give Seen readers the latest news.

This week has been non-stop for Liverpool Pride as we moved in our new office above the News From Nowhere Bookshop on Bold Street. It’s the first time Liverpool Pride has had a home to call our own that hasn’t consisted of a dining room table, the café in FACT, or even the Lisbon.
If you’d like to visit we’re organising a series of volunteer recruitment events starting this Saturday and Monday at 12pm and 6pm respectively -
www.liverpoolpride.co.uk/volunteer.

There are plenty of opportunities for people to get involved whatever your experience whether you’re interesting in writing, photography or filming or are looking for experience in event management and production.

Wednesday saw us meet with the licensed venue owners within the festival site. The meeting was positive and we were thrilled to hear what the bars have been planning we can confirm that there are some special treats lined up.

Because of cuts to the city’s budget from central government, we’re asking bar and club owners to help support the festival in any way they can from helping with fundraising events to sponsoring the festival and becoming an official venue – make sure you ask your favourite what they’re doing to help keep the festival free.
The event costs well over £135,000 to stage and by helping to support our city’s Pride we’re able to apply for a licence for the whole festival site, although we will be looking to have some exclusions so people can chill out of the day and to create some safe spaces for families.

We’re delighted to announce that Orb Events will be working with us again to programme our Summer of Love, Debbie and the team worked tirelessly on the Rainbow Circus and we’re sure that this year will only be better.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
